In the name of God amen, I William Bennett of the County of Pittsyhlvania being sick and weak in body but of sound mind and disposing memory (for which I thank God), and calling to mind the uncertainty of human life and being desirous to dispose of all such works by estate as it hath pleased God to help me with I give and bequeath the same in manner following that is to say. I give to my daughter Anna Arthur the sum of Ten dollars to be paid out of my estate by my executor hereinafter named. 2ndly I give to my grandson William B. Arthur all my tract of land on which I now live containing by [antient] surveys 388 acres during his natural life and after his death to be equally divided between his four sons Abner, James, John and William Arthur. 3rdly I give to my afforsaid grandson William B. Arthur all the residue of my estate of every discription to him and his heirs forever
