The birth of Jordan Witlow is recorded in the Douglas Register. Jordan Whitlow was in Granville Co., NC in 1790, where he appears in the census taken that year. 1790 Census, Granville Co., NC. Roll M637_7. He moved to Caswell Co., NC, where he was granted 51 1/2 aces on 26 Nov. 1792. Caswell Co. Deed Book H., p. 217. He bought another 67 1/4 acres where he made his home on 11 Nov. 1801. Caswell Co. Deed Book M., p. 187. On 11 Jan. 1808, he sold to Daniel Darby 25 A of land on N. Hico that was granted him by the state on 7 Nov. 1787. Caswell Co. Deed Book P, p. 169-170 (Kerr, p. 283). On 2 Jan. 1807 he sold 67 1/4 acres on Country Line Creek to James Yancey. Caswell Co. Deed Book P, p. 184. This is the same land that he bought in 1801. On 14 Mar. 1812, Jordan Whitlow sold to Nicolas Willis, 221 acres on Country Line Creek. Caswell Co. Deed Book Q, p. 397.
He died sometime before Oct. 1816 when his estate was sold. Caswell Co. Will Book G., p. 316.
