All the males and females, with the exception of one male between 16 and 25, in the 1810 census can be mapped to a person in the household of Judith Hill in the 1820 census. The missing male is likely William Lyon who appears in the same census, the third entry following Judith Lyon. The Judith Hill in the 1810 census in Amherst County had 4 slaves. Judith Lyon was not listed in the 1810 census in Pittsylvania County. The Judith in Lyon the 1820 census in Pittsylvania County had 7 slaves.   	Judith Hill appears in the 1820 census in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. The 1820 census was taken on 7 August 1820. Judith Hill also appears in the property tax list for Pittsylvania County, Virginia in 1820, but is absent in the following years. On 3 May 1821, Daniel Burford sold the interest of his wife Susannah in the estate of her mother, Judith Hill, to William D. Hill for $150. He also gave Hill a power of attorney. Eliza M. Hill and Catherine Burch were witness to the deed. Assuming that the Judith Hill of Pittsylvania County and Judith Hill of Amherst County are the same person, it appears that Judith Hill died sometime between 7 August 1820 and 3 May 1821.   12 December 1809. Judith Hill petitioned for divorce from her husband Alexander Lyon. Judith Hill inherited property from her father William Hill, which was expended by her husband. Her husband abandoned her in 1795 and subsequently married Polly Smith in Caswell Co., NC. Alexander Lyon apparently had three children by Polly Smith, who he also abandoned. Judith Hill inherited slaves from her mother, which would be forfeited if she lived with her husband. The petition was denied. Judith Lyon is listed as head of household in the 1810 census in Amherst County, Virginia. 1810 U.S Census, Amherst County., Virginia., Roll M252_66, p. 260. Her household includes 1 male 10-15, 1 male 16-18, 1 male 16-25, 1 female under 10, 1 female 10-15, 4 females 26-44, and 1 female over 45. Four slaves were also listed.
