    • Judith Hill appears in the 1820 census in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. The 1820 census was taken on 7 August 1820. Judith Hill also appears in the property tax list for Pittsylvania County, Virginia in 1820, but is absent in the following years.

      On 3 May 1821, Daniel Burford sold the interest of his wife Susannah in the estate of her mother, Judith Hill, to William D. Hill for $150. He also gave Hill a power of attorney. Eliza M. Hill and Catherine Burch were witness to the deed.

      Assuming that the Judith Hill of Pittsylvania County and Judith Hill of Amherst County are the same person, it appears that Judith Hill died sometime between 7 August 1820 and 3 May 1821.

    • 12 December 1809. Judith Hill petitioned for divorce from her husband Alexander Lyon. Judith Hill inherited property from her father William Hill, which was expended by her husband. Her husband abandoned her in 1795 and subsequently married Polly Smith in Caswell Co., NC. Alexander Lyon apparently had three children by Polly Smith, who he also abandoned. Judith Hill inherited slaves from her mother, which would be forfeited if she lived with her husband. The petition was denied.
