    • Prior to his death, William Shapard placed all of his property in trust with Thomas Shapard and Francis Royster. The trustees were to provide for the care of William Shapard during his lifetime and then to distribute property and proceeds from the sale of the property among the children of William Shapard who are all named in the deed of trust. The children of William Shapard were Samuel Shapard, Mildred Shapard, William Shapard, Elizabeth Royster, James Shapard, William Lewis Shapard, Thomas Shapard, Mary Shapard, John L Shapard, Anne Shapard, Barnett Shapard, and Robert Shapard were children of said William Shapard, February 2, 1807 [Granville County, NC Deed Book T, p. 49] [6]
