- George Dill died about 1878 without a widow or lineal descendants. His named heirs are his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Dill, brothers C. Pinckney Dill and Noel Dill, heirs of deceased brother Garrison Dill, and Mary Crane and C. Pinckney Dill, Jr., the only children of another deceased brother. This unnamed brother appears to be Hiram Dill. (Greenville Co., SC Estate Records, Apartment 41, File 43)
The estate record of George Dill provides five heirs of John Dill, including George Dill. These are the same five heirs of John named in the estate of Runnels Dill. (Probate Judge Real Estate Book, GreenvilleCo, SC, 1841-1863, page 46) Both estate records exclude Manley Francis Dill. Records from South Carolina Accounts Audited show that John Dill was veteran of the State Line in the Revolutionary War and that he died leaving 6 children. (South Carolina Accounts Audited Reel 34,Frame 504) His widow and his three youngest children were added to the pension list of the State. The three youngest children were Runnels G. Dill, Hiram W. Dill, and Manley F. Dill. (South Carolina Accounts Audited Reel 34, Frame 506) It is not clear why Manley Francis Dill was not including among the heirs of John in these two estate records.
