  Note	Revolutionary War Service Pension Application, National Archives File R2953, for Dill, Reynolds, by Evaline Dill, widow, 16 May 1853. According to the pension application by Evaline (Hooper) Dill, age 60, the widow of Runnels, Runnels was a private in the Revolutionary war for six months under Captain Oldam and fought at the Battle of Gates' defeat. She married Runnels on 6 July 1830. He died on 27 Oct 1844. Witnessed by James Adam and George W. Dill. A copy is in HFD. A statement by John [II] of Caswell Co NC follows which says that his brother Runnels Dill served in the rev. war and that another brother [Archibald] also served. Evaline is aka Evelyn. Probate Judge Real Estate Book, Greenville Co, SC, 1841-1863, page 46: South Carolina, Greenville District To John Watson, ordinary of said district. I, Reynolds Dill, a son and heir of Reynolds Dill, late of said district, deceased, do hereby make application for a division or sale of the real estate of said deceased, situated in said district on the waters of Middle Tyger river containing one hundred and twenty two acres (more or less), adjoining lands of Lewis H Dickey, Esqs,, Milton Ponderand others, originally granted to Archibald Dill. The following is a just and true statement of the heirs of said deceased viz. Eveline Dill the widdow of said deceased: Heirs within this State viz. 1 Reynolds Dill the applicant. 2 Thiron E Dill (a minor, ten years old) 3 John Adam & Mary his wife (John Adam has not been heard of for twenty years) 4. Ann Dill 5 The heirs a law of David and Nancy Forrest deceased viz. Archibald& Charlotte Forrest 6 The heirs at law of John Dill deceased viz. Charles P. Dill, GeorgeDill, Noel Dill, Reynolds G.
