    • Charles Lewis appears on the Pittsylvania County Personal Property Tax list through 1788. He is absent from the tax list in 1789 and thereafter. Appearing in his place is Mary Ann Lewis. From this evidence I conclude that Mary Ann Lewis is the widow of Charles Lewis and that he died between 1788 and 1789.

    • George Lewis appears on the Pittsylvania County Land Tax List with 167 acres of land through 1809. In 1810-1815 he is listed as George Lewis dec'd with 167 acres. In 1816 he has an additional 26 acres received from George Dodson. He remain on the tax list with these two tracts of land through 1818. He is absent from the tax list in 1819 and thereafter. The disposition of his property is unknown to this researcher at this time. [5]
