  In his will, William Bennett named his sister, Mary Devier. Margaret Ashmore, their grandmother, left 5 slaves to all the children of her daughter, Mary Cannon, the now wife of Luke Cannon. Since Mary did not receive any share of this estate, she must have been born from her mother's second husband, Mason Bennett. Also, William Bennett gave preference in his will to his sister over his half brothers indicating that she may be a full sister.
