    • George , born abt. 1743,[ Don Champion gives birth date as1743] first appears in the 1764 Lunenburg Co.,Va. tithes with his father Thomas and brother William. In 1769, George Prosise is still living in Lunenburg Co., but with a Michael Mackey. In 1782, he is listed in the tax rolls of Pittsylvania Co.,Va.[1790 census], with four white males 0 slaves, as are brothers William and Daniel. In 1783, George is named as an executor in the Pittsylvania Co.,Va. will of Robert Adams. He is listed in the 1785 tax roll of Pittsylvania Co.,Va. [1790 census], with 6 males -- no dwelling -- 2 other buildings, as is his brother William. On Aug. 15, 1785, George is surety to the marriage bond of his daughter Salley Prosise to William Bradley [Martha Prosise who married John Knuckles , 3-20-1792 in Pittsylvania, Co.,Va. may also be the daughter of George] Thomas Prosise, who mar Betsy Adams ,11-26-1792, is a son of George Prosise. Betty is mentioned in her father Nathan Adams, Sr.'s will of -9-20-1802 , in Pittsylvania Co., Va. Nathan Adams was also her surety for her marriage bond.
