Wilkes Co., NC Deed Book C-1:77
5/2/1786 Micajah Bennett of NEWBERRY CO., SC sells to Samuel Tucker 150 acres on south side of Yadkin River. signed by M.B.

It appears that M.B. first came to NC about 1780 and was already in Newberry SC by 1786. This closely coincides with Reuben Rowland's residence in Wilkes Co also on the south side of the Yadkin River.

It would be difficult to argue that these R.R. and M. B. were not thevery same that appeared in John Blalock's 1790 Newberry Co., Will or
preaching at the Duncan's Creek Church in Newberry/Laurens Counties. It would also follow that they were the same as those appearing in
Albemarle Co, VA prior to NC.

Micajah Bennett was a pastor at the Duncan's Creek Church (Baptist) between 1790-1798. I don't know what happened to him
after that. He does not appear in the Laurens Co, SC 1790 census withRowland and Bush.

6/18/1791 Newberry Co., SC Will Book A:98
Will of John Blalock, written 8/5/1790, proven 5/16/1791
witnessed by George Bush and John Housen Bush
executors: Micajah Bennett, Reuben Rowland and Lewis Blalock (they
also receive all stock and house furniture)
      legatees:
Micajah Bennett (h/o Lydia? Blalock, son in law to dec'd?) receives
Negroes Will, Jack, Nan and Nan's daughter
Reuben Rowland (h/o Susannah (Anna) Blalock, son in law of dec'd.)
receives Negroes Johnson, Tom, Jane and the boy, San (s/o Jane & Tom)
John Blalock Bennett (s/o Micajah?) Negro boy, Tullah
John Blalock Rowland (s/o Reuben) Megro boy, Charles and instructed
to give his 10 siblings 30 shillings each.
Lebard Oglesby, Sr (son in law to dec'd?) 40 pounds sterling to be
divided equally between his 7 children.

There is a will for John B. Bennett in Perquimans Co., NC 1808
Reuben Bennett in Warren Co., NC 1793
Lydia Bennett in Chowan Co., NC 1807

      Newberry Co. Deed Book D:152-153

Bennett, Richard Bennett, Lewis Bennett, Micajah Bennett, Mary Bennett, Charity Bennett, and Sary Bennett, all of NewberryCounty. 20 Nov 1798.
