Wilkes Co., NC Deed Book C-1:77
5/2/1786 Micajah Bennett of NEWBERRY CO., SC sells to Samuel Tucker 150 acres on south side of Yadkin River. signed by M.B.
It appears that M.B. first came to NC about 1780 and was already in Newberry SC by 1786. This closely coincides with Reuben Rowland's residence in Wilkes Co also on the south side of the Yadkin River.
It would be difficult to argue that these R.R. and M. B. were not thevery same that appeared in John Blalock's 1790 Newberry Co., Will or
preaching at the Duncan's Creek Church in Newberry/Laurens Counties. It would also follow that they were the same as those appearing in
Albemarle Co, VA prior to NC.
Micajah Bennett was a pastor at the Duncan's Creek Church (Baptist) between 1790-1798. I don't know what happened to him
after that. He does not appear in the Laurens Co, SC 1790 census withRowland and Bush.
