  John Brooks father is likely Thomas Brooks who made a will in 1775. At November court 1775, Thomas' widowed refused administration of the estate and renounced her inheritance. A John Brooks was granted administration of Thomas Brooks' estate with Timothy Holt and Robert Holt as his securities. Timothy Holt, administrator of the estate of Robert Holt, is later named in a bill of injunctions filed by Warren Brooks as administrator for the estate of John Brooks.
