  The division of the real estate of Richard Bennett can be seen in the Pittsylvania County Land Tax List. Richard Bennett appears in the list through 1840. In 1841, Richard is absent. The land tax list shows nine properties in 1841 which the new owners received from Richard Bennett deceased. It appears that Richard Bennett died in 1840.
