Henry Carrell is listed in the 1800 census for Rockingham Co., NC with 2 males 10 to 15, 1 male 16 to 25, 1 male 26 to 44 (himself), 1 female under 10, 1 female 10 to 15, 1 female 16 to 25, and 1 female (his wife) 45+. 1800 Census Rockingham Co., NC, p. 446. The entry in the census immediately following Henry Carrell is John McKay, who purchased land from John McCarroll on Piney Br adjacent John McCarrol. Rockingham Co. Deed Book E. p. 205. (Webster, p. 90). John McCarroll died in 1799 and left a will naming sons James, Israel, John; daughters Elizabeth, Mary, Margaret, Jannet, Sarah, Isabel, Charity; and wife Margaret. Rockingham Co. Leven McColister is recorded in the 1810 and 1850 census in Rockingham Co. He was born in 1770, so he is only 10 years younger than Henry Carrell. Thus, it seems likely that Henry married an older widow. The 1800 census also indicates that Henry’s wife is older than he. In the 1800 census, the oldest male (likely Henry) is 26-45, while the oldest female likely Henry’s wife) is 45+.

Eleven McCollister is recorded in the 1840 census. He is 60-70 years old.
