William Allen was born about 1758 in Person Co., North Carolina. He was the son of William Allen and Frances. His father died in 1786 in Granville Co., North Carolina. The elder William Allen left a will naming his 13 children including his son William, to whom he bequesthed land on the north side of Grassy Creek.
William Allen married Sarah Howard. While there is no record of the marriage, a deed in Person Co. names William Allen as a legatee of Henry Howard by virtue of his marriage to Sarah Howard. Person Co. Deed Book C, p. 444.
William Allen died in Person Co. in 1816. He left a will dated 5 Mar. 1816, which was proved in the May Court term of 1816.
