Notes - It appears that Andrew Wray may have moved from what is now Stokes County to Rockingham County. Andrew Wray appears in the 1790 and 1800 censuses in Stokes County , but is not listed in the 1810 census or later censuses. He also appears in the records of Stokes Co. in the early 1790s. As noted below, he purchased land in Stokes Co. in 1790 and 1792 from Ursley Ray. In 1795, he purchased land in Rockingham Co.
Andrew Ray and his children are named in the will of Andrew’s brother Robert Ray. Rockingham Co. Will Book B, pg. 18.

Based on the 1810 and 1820 census records, Andrew was between 35 and 45 years old in 1810, so his birth date is between 1765 and 1775. His wife is less than 45 in 1820, so her birth date is after 1775.
Andrew Wray is missing from the 1830 census. A Mary Ray between 50 and 60 years old appears in the census. She is living with one male and one female who are both between 15 and 20 years old. Rockingham Co., NC Census, pg. 288. Neighbors include Jones and Harrison. A Mildred Wray between 50 and 60 years old is also in the census.
A Mary Wray appears in the 1850 census in the household of Pleasant Wray. She is 70 years old and was born in NC. Rockingham co., NC Census, pg. 65. She is living in the Western District.

28 Feb. 1797 - Andrew Wray sold 50 acres on Little Troublesome Creek adjacent his own property to William Martin for 50 pounds. The deed was witnessed by Robert Wray. Rockingham Co. NC Deed Book E, p. 59. (Webster p. 80).
