William Neely is the father-in-law of Hugh Reynolds as evidenced by his Pittsylvania County will naming his daughter Mary Reynolds and grandsons Joseph and William Reynolds. Jospeh Reynolds, sonof Hugh Reynolds, married Margaret Devin, daughter of William Devin. William Devin also left a will in Pittsylvania County naming a son Robert. In his Revolutionary War pension application, Robert Devin stated that he was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania on 6 April 1759. - Hugh Reynolds was a member of the Muddy Run Society, a Congregation of Covenenters in Lancaster, Pensylvania. Rev. John Cuthbertson was the first Covenenter missionary in America. He kept a diary of his activiteis from 1751 until 1790. The entry in Rev. John Cuthbertson's diary on 30 December 1756 reads:" Rode 6 miles to and from W.
