William Neale lived in Pittsylvania Co on land near Tomahawk Creek. On 5 Sept. 1769, John Nealey of Augusta Co. VA sold 189 acres of land in Pittsylvania Co. to William Nealey for 100 pounds. The land was on the south side of Tomahawk creek adjoining the land of Robert Nealy. The deed indicates that John Neally purchased the land from Col. John Chiswell. Robert Nealy, William Nealy, and William McCleneehan witnessed the deed. On the same day John Nealey sold another 189 acres of land in Pittsylvania Co. to Robert Nealey for 100 pounds. The land was on the south side of Tomahawk creek adjoining the land of William Nealy. The deed indicates that John Neally purchased the land from Col. John Chiswell. William McCleneehan, William Neeley, and William Neully (Nealy?) witnessed the deed. Both deeds were recorded 23 Mar. 1770 and further proved 30 Aug. 1770. Pittsylania Co. Deed Book 1, p. 504, 512. William Neale is referred to in an 16 Dec. 1787 deed from Benjamin Duncan to Jospeh Atkins. Pittsylvania Co. Deed Book 7, p. 217. Duncan granted tpo Atkins 100 acres described in the deed as part of land on which William Neely now lives on tomahawk Creek across from George Smith’s line, and part of 200 acres obtained from Col. John Chiswell & Co. by deed.
William Nealy died testate in Pittsylvania Co., VA. Pittyslvania Co., VA Will Book 11,, p. 162. His will dated 6 Dec. 1787 names daughter Mary Reynolds, and grandsons William Reynolds and Joseph Reynolds. George Smith and Joseph Hughs witnessed the will and Hugh Reynolds provided the security. The will was probated 21 July 1788.

James Nealy P. ag James Condon D. On an Attachment The Sherif having returned that he had levyed the said Attachment in the hands of John and Ezra Justice and on a small piece of Silver. This day came the P by his Attorney, and the said D. not appearing to replevy (altho solemnly called), the P. produced the said defendant's Note of hand for Eight pounds, ten shillings and six pence. Therefore it is considered by this Court that the P. recover against the said D. his debt aforesaid
together with his Costs by him in this behalf expended. And it is Ordered that the said Attached Effects be Condemned and paid to the said P. towards satisfying this Judgment.

Indenture made the 17th day of July, 1758, between Edward WESSON and Jacob WOOLSEY, for 30 pounds, conveying 1,000 acres, being part of a patent granted to Edward WEFSON on the day of April, 1758, located on both side of Quarel Swamp, adjoining the lands of William JOHNSON and Henry CATOS. Witnesses were William NEALE, Elias MORGIN and David D. KELLEY. Indenture and Memorandum of Livery of Seizin were acknowledged in Court on July 25, 1758, by Edward WEFSON and Mary, his wife, personally appeared and relinquished her right of dower. Brunswick Co. Indenture made the 17th day of July, 1758, between Jacob WOOLSEY and Edward WEFSON, for 30 pounds, conveying 575 acres, being part of a patent dated 1741, and other patent dated 1751, lying on both sides of Great Creek, adjoining lands of ELLEGEs. Witnesses were William NEALE, Elias MORGAN, and David KELLEY (his mark). Indenture and Memorandum of Livery of Seizin were acknowledged in Court on July 25, 1758, by Jacob WOOLSEY, and Alice, his wife, appeared and relinquished her right of dower. Brunswick Co. Indenture made the 24th day of July, 1758, between Edward WEFSON and Henry YARBROUGH, for 30 pounds, conveying 154 acres and being a part of a greater dividend of land granted by Letters of Patent bearing date of April 10, 1758, and on both sides of Quarel Swamp, at the mouth of Reedy Branch. Witnesses were Wm. NEALE, George YARBROUGH, and Isaac LEDBETTER. Indenture and Memorandum of Livery of Seizin were acknowledged in Court on July 25, 1758, by Edward WEFSON, and Mary, his wife, appeared and relinquished her right of dower. Deed Book 6, page 279.
Indenture made the 21st day of March, 1759, between Richard SMITH of Granville County, North Carolina, and Peter HINES, for 50 pounds, conveying 400 acres, adjoining lands of James UPCHURCH, Rattlesnake Creek, and Richard LEDBETTER, and being the tract of land granted to Richard SMITH by Letters of Patent bearing date of June 26, 1755. Witnesses were William Neale, Jacob ADAMS (his mark), and Elias MORGIN. Indenture proved in Court on April 24,
1759, by the oaths of the witnesses. Deed Book 6, page 345.
In Proprietary tax lists of the county of Chester ... By Chester County (Pa.), William Henry Egle (p. 470), the 1781 tax schedule for Chester County lists a William Nealy with 157 acres, 2 horses, 4 cattle, 0 sheep , and no servants.

THIS INDENTURE made the twenty second day of June one thousand seven hundred and forty two, Between WILLIAM NEALE and ANN NEALE his Wife of CHARLS County in the Province of MARYLAND of one part and JAMES BERRYMAN of County of Westmoreland in Colony of Virginia of other part; Witnesseth that WILLIAM NEALE and ANN his Wife in consideration of the sum of Five shillings to them in hand paid by JAMES BERRYMAN the receipt whereof WILLIAM NEALE and ANN his Wife doth hereby acknowledge, hath and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto JAMES BERRYMAN his heirs all that parcel of land scituate on the Lower side of MOCHODOCK CREEK in Washington Parish in County of Westmoreland in Virginia and bounded by certain lines between the Land ELIZA: BERRYMAN purchased of COSSIN BENNETT on one side and on the other side adjacent to the land ELIZA: BERRYMAN now liveth containing by estimation One hundred and twenty acres more or less being that part of JAMES NEALs Pattent granted to him the fourth of October one thousand six hundred & ninety five which he leased to BENJAMIN BERRYMAN by a Lease bearing date the Third of June one thousand seven hundred and one; Together with all houses orchards profits and appurtenances to the same belonging; To have and to hold the one hundred and twenty acres of land more or less and premises with appurtenances unto JAMES BERRYMAN during the term of one year to the intent that JAMES BERRYMAN may be in the actual possession of the premises and by force and virtue of the Statute for transferring uses into possession be enabled to take a release of the land and premises to JAMES BERRYMAN his heirs; In Witness whereof the parties to these presents interchangeably set their hands and seals the day and year first above written
