  Joseph Allen made a will in January 1821, which was probated in the March term 1821. He left his mother Sarah Allen a slave and gave left the remainder of his estate to be equally divided between his brothers and sisters, except that the portion going to his sisters Nancy and Hannah Allen to be escrowed for their children. He appointed his brothers Thomas and William Allen to be the executors of his will.
