  • Notes
    • John Cannon married Hester (Ester) Pledge in Henrico County, Virginiaprior to 1 Apr 1686. They were both deposed in a court case, Polley vs Pledge, in Henrico County that was decided on that date. In the John Cannon deposition he stated that he lived near John Pledge for fouror five years.

On 27 Jun 1687 John Pledge gave 50 acres of land to John Cannon entailed to his heirs begotten of the body of his wife Ester.

Henrico County, VA Record Book 1688-1701, page 41;Richard Parker on 1April 1689 gave with affection to 'John Cannon (Jr) the son of John Cannon and Esther his wife one cow calf'. I can't establish a relationship between the Cannon and Parker familes, but it is possible that John was married to daughter of Richard Parker before he married Ester/Hester Pledge.

On 23 Oct 1690 John Cannon received a patent for 158 acres of land adjacent to the property of John Pledge.

John Cannon died in 1696 after making a will, dated 10 May 1696, thatwas proved in Henrico County on 1 Feb 1696/7. By the time the will was proved his widow Hester was remarried to Abraham Childers, Junior.
