    • Aug. 1747 on Motion of Isaac Bates, Gentleman for the administration of the estate of Wm. Cannon deceased ( it was ordered John Cannon heirat law and Theodirck Webb be severally summoned to next court to showcause if any why the said admin. should not be granted to the sd. Isaac Bates.

      On Aug. 11, 1747 'On petition of John Cannon who made Oath according to Law certificate is granted him for obtaining letters of admin. of Est of Wm. Cannon deceased, giving security and on which he together with James Nevels & Wm. Cabell, Gent. his security enter into and acknowleged Bond' James Nevels, Sam. Jordan, John Cobbs and James Daniel, Gent were to make the appraisal of the slaves and personal Est.

      Inventory presented at Nov. Court 1749 by John Cannon, James Daniell,James Nevele made the inventory which showed he owned owned about 15 horse and colts, but not much else.
