  Stephen Cox was the sone of William Cox and Sarah, possibly Sarah Taylor. He died before 28 Aug. 1749, when his will was proved by his executors Stepehn Cox and Judith Cox. Cumberland Co. Order Book 1, p. 23. The will was recorded in Cumberland Co. Will Book 1, p. 23, but that page is now missing. John Frederick Dorman, Adventurers of Purse and Person, 1607-1624/25, Vol. 1, p. 730 (Baltimore, 2007).
