      pp. 29-35 In Name of God Amen I ABRAHAM FARROW of Overwharton Parish, Stafford County, Colony of Virginia Gent being sick and weak of body but of Sound memory do make this my last Will and Testament ..
      Imprimis I give my Soul to God my Body to the grave ..
      Item I give all that tract of land being about 500 acres whereon my Son JOHN lives to my Dear and Loving Son JOHN FARROW and heirs.
      Item I give to my son John Farrow 200 acres of a greater tract of 800 acres adjoining to the tract he lives on my will Is that the 200 acres be that part next adjoining to the tract he now lives on.
      Item I give to my loving son WILLIAM FARROW & heirs all that tract he now lives on being about 350 acres & commonly known by the name of Gibsons Land.
      Item I give to my loving son William Farrow & heirs 300 acres of the aforementioned tract of 800 acres which 300 acres my will and meaning is shall be adjoining next to the tract he lives on.
      Item I give all that tract & Plantation of Land whereon I now live being 200 acres and lying between the branch called the Tan Branch & Bartons line together with the Grist Mill and all its appurtenances to my Loving Son ABRAHAM FARROW & the male heirs of his body lawfull Begotten and for default of such heirs then to my Son John Farrow & male heir of his Body lawfullie begotten and for Default of such heirs then to my son William Farrow and male heirs of his body .. & Default of such heirs to my right heirs at Law.
      Item I give to my loving Son Abraham Farrow and heirs the remaining part of that tract of Land above men:t whereof 200 acres is Devised to my son John and his heirs & 300 acres to my Son William and heirs ..
      Item I give that Plantation whereon my Son in Law JOSEPH DAVIS now lives being 200 acres and is part of a greater tract containing 400 acres & lying on Quantico Creek to my loving Daughter MARY DAVIES the Wife of the said Joseph after her Decease to ALEXANDER SCURLOCK my Loving Grandson & heirs & for default of such heirs to my loving Grand Daughter LYDIA SCURLOCK & heirs and for Default of such heirs to my heirs at Law. My will and meaning is that my said daughter Mary Davies shall without any molestation or Hinderance peacably enjoy the benefit possession & occupation of the said 200 acres for and During her naturall life & that immediately after her Decease it remains & be to the said Alexander Scurlock & heirs and for Such default to Lydia & heirs & for default of such to my heirs at Law as above expressed, and mentioned.
      Item I give the remaining 200 acres of the aforsd tract whereon THOMAS CHAPMAN now lives to my loving Daughter LYDIA BARKER the now wife of LEONARD BARKER for & during her natural life & then to my Loving Son John ffarrow and heirs my will and meaning is that the said Lydia Barker shall without molestation or Hinderante have the benefit & occupation of said Land for & during the time & term of her natural life & that immediately after her Decease it shall remain & Revert to my Son John ffarrow & heirs forever.
      Item I give to any two Loving Sons William ffarrow & Abram ffarrow & Heirs all that tract of Land whereon my Son Abraham ffarrow now lives to be equally divided betwixt them but my will and meaning is that my Son Abraham and his heirs may have that part of it where his Plantation now is & whereon he now lives.
      Item I give to my Daughter in Law MARGARET BENNETT the now wife of WILLIAM BENNETT & to her heirs forever all that tract lying on the Branch called the tan branch on the upper side thereof beginning where the Dividing line goes over said Branch and so along the several lines as divided by RICHARD GIBSON & EDWARD MASON excluding all on the lower side of tan Branch.
      Item I give 30 pounds Sterling money to be laid out by my Exers. hereafter named for one or two good young Negro slaves for the use Benefit & behoof of my Daughter ROSE FILKINS, the now wife of HENRY FILKINS for and during the term of her natural life & then to her heirs forever my will and meaning is that the said Rose ffilkins shall have the benefit and Labour & service of said Slave or Slaves for and during her natural life but that no sale shall be made of said Slaves nor accounted as any part of her said Husband's Estate so as they may be sold by her said Husband or attached or seized for his or her Debt or any other ways disposed of to the Detriment of the right heirs but that immediately after her decease the said Slave or Slaves shall pass as an estate in fee Simple to her next heir & if seized or attached for her said husbands or her own Debts or otherwise sold or disposed of by him or her or any person or persons by his or her procurement that then my Exes. or such of there as are then alive, shall take the said Slave or Slaves into their possession to save the same for next Heir of said ROSE FILKINS S further my will is that this legacie shall stand in lieu & Barr of any thing else she can expect of my Estate as a childs part or any other way whatsoever.
      Item I give to my Dear and Loving wife MARGARET FARROW for and during her naturall life three slaves Boatswain, Bee & Su and immediately after her Decease Boatswain & Su to my Son ABRAM FARROW and his heirs & Bess to my Daughter LYDIA BARKER & her heirs.
      Item I give to my loving Daughter MARY DAVIES the wife of JOSEPH DAVIS & her heirs forever three Slaves Roger Joan and Jean.
      Item I give to my loving Daughter Lydia Barker the wife of LEONARD BARKER three Slaves Appo Judeth & Nan.
      Item I give to my loving Son WILLIAM FARROW & heirs a mulatto boy named Tom and for Default such heirs then to my Son JOHN and heirs.
      Item I give all my personal Estate after deduction of the 30 pounds within mentioned to he equally divided betwixt my Dear & Loving Wife Margaret ffarrow and my two loving Daughters Mary Davis & Lydia Barker excepting the Carpenters tools which I give to my Loving Son Abram ffarrow & the Shoemakers tools which I give to my loving Son William Farrow.
      Item I give 2000 pounds of tobacco to ALEXANDER SCURLOCK to be lodged in the hands of my Exrs: untill he arrives to the full age of twenty & one years and then to be paid to him.
      Item I give 2000 pounds of Tobacco to my Grand Daughter LYDIA SCURLOCK to be lodged in the hands of my Exrs. till she arrive to 18 years of age or on the day of her marriage & then to be paid to her.
      Virga: Set: At a General Court held at the Capital April the 17th: 1731 Margaret ffarrow Widow, John ffarrow, William ffarrow & Abram ffarrow having appealed from a Judgment of Stafford County Court given the 15th of October 1730 between Joseph Davis & Leonard Barker then petitioners Now Appellees & the said Mary: John, William & Abraham then defts, now appellants .. Whereby the Court did adjudge that of two writings then and there produced to be the will of Abraham ffarrow Gent Deced the writing whereon no Exrs: is named & without Date is the Last will of the said Deced:, & making nothing appear to set aside the said Judgment is therefore affirmed & the appellants ordered to pay Costs & its further ordered that the said will be sent back to the Clerks Office of the said County of Stafford to the end that the aforesaid Margaret ffarrow may have Admen of the Estate of the said Decedent with the will annext in the Court of that County.       At Court held for Stafford County on the 9th day of June 1731 The within Last will of Abram ffarrow Gent deced was produced in Court by Margaret ffarrow his widow .. made oath .. entered into Bond .. Certificate is granted for obtaining Adman of the sd Deced Estate & said Will is admitted to record.

We MARGARET FARROW, JOHN MERCER & JOHN GRANT are bound unto HENRY FITZHUGH Esgr. the first Justice in Commission of the Peace for Stafford County .. behalf of Justices in sum of 1500 pounds Sterling dated this 9th day of June 1731, The Condition .. is if Margaret ffarrow Admin of Abram ffarrow Deced do make perfect Inventory of all goods chattels and credits of said Deced .. do Exhibit into the County Court of Stafford & further do make a just and true account of her actings & doings therein .. the same being first Examined & allowed by the Justices of the court for the time being, shall deliver and pay unto such person or persons .. as the said Justices shall direct, then this obligation to be void or else to remain in full force.
