1753 - Amelia Co., Va. - Reuben is on the tax list in John Nash's District in 1753 in Amelia Co., now Nottoway Co.,Va.. Reuben is paying one poll. Jacob Stanley is also on this tax list.
1755 - Albemarle Co., Va. - Reuben is on in Obediah Woodson's District. This area is described as below the Buffalo River to the County line. Jacob Stanley also on this list but in Col. Randolph's district. This area is described as being below Buffalo River.
1775- Surry Co.(now Wilkes Co.), NC - Reuben is on the 1775 tax list in Capt. Cleveland's District showing Reuben paying 2 polls, himself and likely his son.
1778 Jul 4 - Wilkes Co., NC - Wilkes Land Entry #237 - Reuben Stanley entered 200 acres of land on Hunting Creek at the foot of Lazy Hill including his improvement said Stanley now lives on. (This entry was transferred to James Love on 25 Jan 1780 and James Love received a NC Land grant #261 for this land.)
1779 Dec 4 - Wilkes Co., NC - Wilkes Entry #1338- Reuben Stanley enters 50 acres on Hunting Creek at Lazy Hill both sides of Creek. 17 (Reuben transferred this entry to James Love on 31 Mar 1780 and James Love received a NC Land Grant for this land.)
1780 Jan 10 - Wilkes Co., NC - Wilkes Entry #1501- Alexander Gilreath entered 150 acres on a branch of Hunting Creek opposite REUBEN Stanley's and below Samuel Lansdown.
1780 Feb 7 - Wilkes Co., NC - Wilkes Entry #1601 - Joshua Thomson entered 200 acres on north side of Hunting Creek Creek at REUBEN STANDLEYS land that he sold to James Love [Wilkes Entry #237].
1780 Feb 25 - Wilkes Co., NC - Wilkes Entry #1645 made by Reuben Stanley for 100 acres at James Love's line as to ascertain the various land between John Stanley's line and Thomas Tomson's line. 20 [Reuben transferred this entry to William Combs on 28 Feb 1785.]
1780 Apr 10- Wilkes Co., NC - Reuben and Jacob Stanleys are chain carriers for the survey of James Love's land entries #237 and #1338.
1784 - Wilkes Co., NC - Reuben is on the tax list paying on 50 acres and 3 polls. This 50 acres is land on Kings Creek that Reuben purchased from Gersham Allen. He is paying a poll for himself and on 2 other 21 year old men. John and Jacob Stanley are also on this tax list.
1784 Mar 2 - Burke Co., NC - Jacob and Reuben are named in a supoena from Burke Co., NC to the sheriff of Wilkes Co.,NC to testify on behalf of David Baker, plantiff vs. Joseph White defendant. David Baker is a neighbor to Joseph and Rickles Stanley in Burke Co., NC.
1785 - Wilkes Co., NC - Reuben is on the tax list paying 2 polls and 100 acres of land. Jacob Stanley is also on this list.
1785 Sept 7 - Wilkes Co. (now Caldwell Co.), NC - Deed, Reuben Stanley bought 50 acres on King's Creek from Gersham Allen for 100 pounds. Witnesses were JACOB Stanley and Richard Green. This deed was proved Jan Term 1786 by JACOB Stanley.
1776 - Wilkes Co., NC - Reuben is on the tax list in Nathaniel Gordon's District paying on 100 acres of land and 2 polls. Jacob Stanley also on this list.
1786 Nov 14 - Deed, Reuben purchased land 106 1/4 acres on Hunting Creek on from James Love Jr. for 100 pounds on Hunting Creek adjacent Osborn Keeling. Witnesses were Jo.[Joseph] Winston and Wm.[William] Sharpe. Deed proved in January 1787 by William Sharp.
