John Dill Paschal, Captain, age 29, Captured at Island No. 10, sent to Camp Chase, Ohio. Transferred to Johnson's Island, 26 April 1862.Sent to Vicksburg, Ms. to be exchanged, 1 Sept. 1862. Re-elected at the regiment?s reorganization. He was wounded at the Battle of Franklin, Tn., 30 Nov. 1864, loosing a thumb and two fingers on his right hand. John was born 12 Dec. 1833 to Elisha Paschal and Rachel McClain inHenry Co., Tn. After the war Capt. Paschal returned to Henry County were he farmed, bought, sold and prized tobacco.
