    • The Journal of Winston Dalton states that William was 83 years of age at his death on Sept. 11, 1827. If this age is correct then William was born between Sept. 12, 1743 and Sept. 11, 1744.

      Beginning at a black walnut on the Staunton River;
      Along old patent line S20E 72 poles to a common hickory in the head of a valley;
      Thence S37E 204 poles to William Bennett's corner pine;
      Thence S37W 100 poles to a corner mulberry on the river bank;
      Then down the meanders of the river to the first station
      William and his wife Hannah signed the deed by mark.
      Wm. Goad, James Clement, Tobias Phillips, Wm. Bennett, Jun and James Bennett witnessed the deed.
