Mr. W. S. Scoot, aged 65 years well-known in the city and county, died at his home here Wednesday afternoon afther a short illness. While he was in feeble health for some time still the trouble which resulted in his deah-pneumonia- originated only a day or two before th end.
He leaves his four children,three daughters, Miss Minnie Scott, private secretary of the state school commissioner, Jere M. Pound, Mrs. W.S. Bennett and Mrs Edward Cason, all of this city, and one son Mr. Jarold Scott. In addition to these his wife survives him, also two brothers, Mr.Jessie Scot and Mr. C. B. Scott, and one sister, Mrs. F. B. Mapp, of Atlanta.
The funeral was held from the residence Thursday morning at 10:30 o’clock and the internment was in the city cemetery, Rev. Lamar Sims and Dr. W.S. Scarrit officiating.
Note: The information contained in the obituary contains errors. The obituary confuses Minnie Scott and Fannie Scott. Minnie Scott was married to W. S. Scott at the time of her father's death and Fannie Herbert Scott was unmarried. In the 1910 census in Baldwin Co., Minnie is living with her husband W.S. Bennett and Fannie is living with her father W.S. Scott. Both are listed on the same page. In the 1930 census for Fulton co., GA, Fannie H. Scott is living with her sister in the household of Charles P. Williams, Minnie's second husband. Fannie is still unmarried.
