  Notes	Benjamin Bennett was born in 1801 according to census records. Of the four sons of Benjamin Bennett (b. 1755), the only one married at the time of Benjamin's birth was William Bennett. In the 1800 census, William Bennett is listed with female of the same age category, who is presumably his wife. Therefore, it is likely that William Bennett was married by 1800 and is the father of Benjamin. [7]

  William Bennett is likely the son of Benjamin Bennett, The identity of his mother is not known. Benjamin Bennett lived in the Shores Reed District in Stokes County. William Bennett also appears in the same district on the Stokes County tax list when he comes of age. William apparently lived his entire life in Stokes County.
