Therefore, her maiden name appears to be Elizabeth Caroline Brewer. Her tombstone has her name as Caroline B. Herron (Caroline Brewer Herron).
The 1850 census of Anderson County, South Carolina shows an Elizabeth C. Brewer, age 10, living in the household of John B. Brewer. In 1860, she is married and is listed in Pickens Co., SC in the household of her husband, Alfred Burton Herron. John Brewer is also listed in the 1860 census of Pickens County, SC. It appears that John Brewer moved from Anderson to Pickens County between 1850 and 1860 where Caroline met her husband, Alfred Herron.
