On 9 October 1753, Nimrod Ferguson purchased 340 acres in Edgecombe County on the south side of Chokyatt Creek and Hollands Branch for 60 pounds from Henry Robertson. On 17 October 1765, Nimrod Ferguson purchased 600 acres of land fromk William Grissell. Halifax County, North Carolina, Deed Book 6, p. 7. The land was formerly conveyed by deed to Grissell by Richard Anderson in a deed dated 14 September 1763. There were no witnesses to the deed.

On 18 December 1771, John Anderson sold John Hood 379 ac4es on the branches of Great Pole Cat Creek, it being part of a larger tract bounded by Boyd, Walton, Nimrod Ferguson's spring branch. Halifax County, North Carolina, Deed Book 8, p. 309.

1578 Nimrod was listed as a tithable in the 1747 list of tithables for Dettingen parish. Persons under 16 are not listed, so Nimrod was likely born no later than 1731. Ferguson, Nimrod (I8883)

1580 No children. Odam, Martha (I6702)

1581 No marriage record has been located for the marriage of John C. Warren and Edna Lewis. The names of John C. Warren and Edna L. Warren are engraved on the same headstone in the Jesse Lewis Bennett cemetery, so it can be inferred that they are husband and wife.

John C. Warren and Edna Lewis are also named as the parents of Elma Warren Brown in the death certificate of Elma Warren Brown. Elma Warren is identified as the daughter of John C. Warren in the 1910 census.

Census records indicate that the marriage took place in 1897.

At age 21 or 22, the boat landed at Philadelphia, PA for repairs; there he escaped and followed the Quaker Trail to Guildford, NC. In 1765 he married Nancy and they had 11 children. After 1790 James and hiswife Nancy, went to Clarke Co., KY to visit their sons. While there James met two Englishmen by the name of CASS.
